Get to know him.............

1. If you could have any record in the world, what would it be and why?

There are lot of records I want to carry on my case, but the list will be too long and boring. If I' d to choose one, maybe George Dekker' s Foey Man (Island). But I' m afraid that this record is on the 99% of the reggae collectors wants list...

2. Who are your biggest influences in DJ’ing and why?

I always try to play in my own style, but for me the best reggae DJ nowadays is Jim Cox (Regga Train). Not only a top collection but a good taste when spinning
.

3. If you could DJ another style, other than that you are known for, what would it be?

I can' t imagine myself playing other style than early Jamaican music. When I started DJing I only played reggae, but the crowd used to ask me for bluebeat, so I started buying and DJing this style... and now I feel very comfortable mixing both bluebeat and reggae (and also rocksteady).

4. Why did you become a DJ, rather than a collector?

5. What’s the “best” record you own?

A record can be special in very different ways... If you' re talking about price I don' t mind the price on the records, but can be The Cooler on Giant. Another rare one shall be Rudexous by Freddie Notes and the Rudies on JA pre-release, few copies running, but sentimental reasons: One life to live by Phillys Dillon (Treasure Isle). Not a rare or expensive tune but...

6. Where is your favourite place to eat, and the best meal they serve?

I love different kinds of food, from Chinese to Lebanese, but I love Catalan food, of course. In fact I'll enjoy any kind of food with the right people. But if I' d to decide... I'll choose smoked salmon! I also love cookin' at home, an expert on cooking hummus!

7. Do you collect anything else?

I' m into trad skinhead clothes, but I can consider buying the clothes I love to wear as "collecting". Also buy reggae and skinhead memorabilia, but can' t consider myself a collector on this.

8. Favourite drink?

Newcastle Brown Ale is on the top of the list, but I also like other beer as Guinness, Bass or the local Estrella Damm. Also used to drink "snake bite" and rum-and-coca cola (like the Prince Buster tune on BlueBeat hehehe)

9. Most embarrassing / funny moment whilst DJ’ing

Some time ago I used to drink a lot when DJing, so I've got some funny/stupid moments at the decks... but better not to explain here, children could be reading this webpage...

10. Favourite movie?

High Fidelity, Lock & Stock, El Odio (La Raine) and Amelie. I'm not a cinema fanatic...
