Bazza, ITALY Where would we have heard you play? Reggae Got Soul Allnighters (Milano) 60's Jamaica (Roma), Boss Reggae Allnighters (Barcelona), Maximum Speed Mod Weekend (Genova), Pavia Mod Night (Pavia) and many other parties in Italy. Currently I'm co-promoter and one of the resident djs at the All Saints Mod Holiday Weekend in Lavarone, in the north of Italy. In June I'll will dj at Lost in Venice weekend and not forgetting I will play at The Hot Mod Summer on the Lake weekend in Perugia.
Top five: I use to change my top five very often and every time I dj I try to spin different tunes, so 5 records that I could play on this occasion are: 1 Owen Gray & Sonny Bradshaw Quartet - Lonely Days (Blue Beat) 2 Buster's All Stars - Reincarnation (Blue Beat) 3 Delano Stewart - Dance With Me (High Note) 4 The Versalites - Spread your bed (Crab) 5 Drumbago & The Dynamites - Dulcemania (Trojan)
If you could have any record in the world, what would it be and why? There are so many records I'd like to own and I'm after. If I' d to choose one, maybe The Enforcers - Musical Fever On Blue Cat. Who are your biggest influences in DJ’ing and why? I try to play my own style when I dj. I don't know who exactly influenced me, but there are several djs that impressed me for their attitude on the decks and musical taste, even if they play different styles. For reggae they are Jim Cox, Alfonso & Lola and Dani Alphaboys. In general, I like the djs that surprise me with something new or uncommon every time I listen to them. If you could DJ another style, other than that you are known for, what would it be? Mmm...difficult question...I like different styles of black music so probably it could be a mix between mod jazz, r&b and motown but don't know..I feel good playing jamaican music. The spectrum of sounds is so broad and let me to adapt myself to the needs of the dancefloor. I can play a jamaican r&b and ska more oriented set if I find myself in front of a mod or mixed crowd, or a full skinhead reggae set if I have to play for a skinhead dancefloor. Probably nowadays I play a mix of all of this. What’s the “best” record you own? Is hard to answer this question. A record could be "the best" for different reasons. For sentimental reasons probably Good Things by Soul Tops. Where is your favourite place to eat, and the best meal they serve? Mmm...as most of my friends know, I'm a "buongustaio" (a food enthusiast) and I like to try different foods (european and not), so for me is hard to choose a favourite place to eat. Anyway I should admit that I still think that the italian food and in particular, the typical food of my region, is the best for my taste. Polenta (a cream with maize) and deer is one of the best dish you can eat in Trentino. I also like cookin' when I can. Do you collect anything else? Fortunately not..jejeje.. Favourite drink? Guinness, grappa and coffee. Most embarrassing / funny moment whilst DJ’ing mmm...probably the most embarassing moment was in Rome during the 60's Jamaica allnighter. I was searching the brush to clean a record in my case, forgetting that I had also put my razor in there, ( that I forgot to take out at home before leaving and so it was still there..). So I slighty cut my finger that started to bleed and I had to stop my set for a while. Favourite movie? The Man Who Wasn't There, Magnolia and many others.
